Your child's journey with us is more than just therapy sessions - it's a path towards growth, communication, and reaching new milestones. Let's walk hand in hand towards brighter tomorrows.
Missy Broxton MS, OTR/L is an occupational therapist with 28 years of experience within the occupational therapy field. She found her passion working with the pediatric population and sensory integration clinic in 2008. She previously co-owned an outpatient pediatric clinic for 13 years in Connecticut. Since that time, Missy has completed extensive coursework to expand her knowledge and expertise in order to address the whole child and the family dynamics. Since her move to New Mexico from Connecticut in 2021, she has established a solid reputation within the special needs community and private preschools and charter schools. She has completed numerous presentations within the community to share her knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting, use of visual schedules and social stories in order to maximize children’s functioning within the school environment.
“I do not treat just the child; I work with the entire family (siblings, extended family, etc.) and any providers or school personnel that engages with the child. My approach to therapy is called a bottom up approach - addressing the neurological and sensory aspects in order to build a solid foundation of strength in order to maximize your child’s success to achieve the demands of their daily life across all settings (home, school, and community).”
Cathleen “Cat” Knowles, MS, CCC-SLP is a dedicated speech-language pathologist (SLP) with 27 years of diverse experience in early childhood development. She began her career in 1997 as a teacher at the New Mexico School for the Deaf, where she cultivated a deep appreciation for language accessibility during a child’s formative years.
For a decade, Cat worked in early intervention, working with young children in their homes and various community settings. This experience allowed her to build strong, supportive relationships with families and other service providers. She learned the value of a collaborative team approach in helping children with disabilities and complex needs establish a foundation for a successful future.
Throughout her career, Cat has worked alongside skilled specialists—including physicians, educators, occupational and physical therapists, and mental health experts—enhancing her own therapeutic skills in the process. For the past 14 years, she has been in private practice, using her extensive knowledge and ongoing education to create holistic, individualized therapeutic experiences for each child and family she serves.
"I believe in a family-centered, play-based, transdisciplinary approach to therapy, where the whole child is nurtured. Children learn best in the context of secure, positive relationships, exploring new skills and concepts alongside supportive adults who foster their foundational skills for learning."
Kathleen Castle, MA, CCC-SLP
“The child may have a disorder or a set of problems, but he or she is not the disorder. They are real human beings with real feelings, real desires and real wishes.” —Dr. Stanley Greenspan
My job, my very purpose in my work, is to assure that the children I work with are able to communicate those very feelings, wishes and desires.
Attention span, focus and concentration are the building blocks of successful therapy treatment. I use a relationship-based approach with children school aged to early adulthood using literacy and social language techniques that support learning. I also work on improving feeding skills related to sensory sensitivities. I have advanced training in Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) feeding therapy approach from the Star Institute in Denver, Colorado.
Allison M. Trujillo, MA, CCC-SLP, COM
My soul purpose is to provide quality therapy to my patients while fostering strong and meaningful relationships with both them and their families. I was born to be a Speech-Language Pathologist – to teach, to love, to guide, and to encourage. It’s not just a profession; it’s my passion and calling.
I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New Mexico State University, a journey that was both demanding and immensely gratifying. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse pediatric and adult populations. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every patient is unique, and that creating a personalized care plan is key to helping them reach their goals.
I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Additionally, I hold certifications in Orofacial Myology from the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) and in VitalStim® Therapy (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) (NMES).
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including home, school, hospital, and private clinic-based therapy. These varied experiences have equipped me with a holistic approach to patient care. I specialize in working with infants, children, and adults who face challenges in feeding and swallowing, articulation, fluency, receptive and expressive language, auditory processing, cognitive deficits, and social communication. I also specialize in treating orofacial myofunctional disorders, such as tongue ties, dental issues, and sleep/airway concerns.
My therapy approach is both effective and efficient, grounded in love, energy, and nurturing care. I often earn the affectionate nickname "Tia Alli" from my patients and their families, which is a testament to the warm and supportive relationships I cultivate. My goal is to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of those I serve.
